Sky writing is the tradition of writing a name, phrase or emblem in the sky with blocks. Almost all current sky writing is found in or around Spawn Town.

Sky writing became significantly more common throughout September 2025- with the addition of the names of Thowan, Trailerflip, grave_kitty, VampireSquid, UnKiloDeCoca and Leleco_Hacked. In October 2025, the names of Torihen, Insanelunacy and toniwackerzy- as well as sky writing reading 'RIP CRABBY', in memory of CrabbyMinecraft who was killed by hippieflippy. By the end of 2025, sky writing by OtaCato, gamer4520 and airzyaz had been added, along with 'I MISS YOU JEIGH'- in memory of Jeighcke.
In late November 2025, the Obsidian Star was built by the Order of the Sanctum above Spawn Town.
In January 2026, sky writing was almost entirely cleared during the Second Spawn Cleanup led by the Spawn Mafia, which attracted controversy from some players. However, the sky was soon filled again by sky writing from Aluminimium, Melodic, ii_futuris, StrayTunic, Tendensu, Riachidayo, wusvcs, muffqn, skogsloparen and avyify.
