Sky writing is the tradition of writing a name, phrase or emblem in the sky with blocks. Almost all current sky writing is found in or around Spawn Town.
History
May - 2025
The earliest form of sky writing is thought to be "0 DAYS W/ NO DEATHS", which was built by MoonWalkingSpy (formerly damaskuzzz) in early May 2025.
July - 2025
On the 23rd of July 2025, sky writing reading 'IM SORRY THE ETERNAL1' was created by SnowFox1707 as an apology for ambushing th3eternal1 in Spawn Town.
From July 2025, players began creating sky writing of their in-game name as a way to mark their presence on the server. salefranguito was the first player to create sky writing of their name in Spawn Town, followed soon after by natonite and FaelGarcia. As well as the names of living players, respects for dead players began to emerge in sky writing- first with 'RIP NETO3005', in memory of Neto3005, followed by a homage to Yehomere reading 'YEHO IS ALIVE' (adapted from significantly damaged skywriting reading 'JESUS IS ALIVE').
In July 2025, an emblem of a dragon was created above Spawn Town by LelecoHacked- the first instance of horizontal sky writing that was created with the intention of appearing on maps.
August - 2025
By the end of August 2025, sky writing with the names of Arklovia, MikoYey, Hippieflippy, Micro (MicrosoftWorker), Gocu_calvus and Dilevz had also been created- as well sky writing reading 'I MISS YOU SQUIRREL', in memory of SquirrelMC, and 'IM SORRY VERNIELBOOR'- likely created by nefunguje_0 to pay respect to vernielboor, who they accidentally killed. A horizontal anarchy emblem was also created by Arklovia.
September - 2025
Sky writing became significantly more common throughout September 2025- with the addition of the names of Thowan, Trailerflip, grave_kitty, VampireSquid, UnKiloDeCoca and LelecoHacked.
October - 2025
In October 2025, the names of Torihen, Insanelunacy and toniwackerzy- as well as sky writing reading 'RIP CRABBY', in memory of CrabbyMinecraft who was killed by hippieflippy. By the end of 2025, sky writing by OtaCato, gamer4520 and airzyaz had been added, along with 'I MISS YOU JEIGH'- in memory of Jeighcke.
November - 2025
In late November 2025, the Obsidian Star was built by the Order of the Sanctum above Spawn Town.
January - 2026
In January 2026, sky writing was almost entirely cleared during the Second Spawn Cleanup led by the Spawn Mafia, which attracted controversy from some players. However, the sky was soon filled again by sky writing from Aluminimium, Melodic, ii_futuris, StrayTunic, Tendensu, Riachidayo, wusvcs, muffqn, skogsloparen and avyify.
