Server books
Throughout the history of the server, hundreds of books have been written by different players, serving a wide variety of purposes. In general, many of these books have been gathered into libraries or are currently in the possession of book collectors.
This article seeks to systematize the entire written production of the server into previously defined categories, with the goal of nominally recording all books ever produced. Overall, the aim is to turn this space into a large online library of the server, bringing together and preserving all books created on the server.
Literary works (artistic written works)
These are books that present more elaborate content, with aesthetic and artistic intent. In general, they include short novels, poems, hymns, or reflective texts. They differ from other productions by prioritizing creative expression, carefully crafted language, and the author’s subjectivity, rather than a practical or documentary function.
- Born in Crimson (Chapter 1, Part 1) (BloodyOrphan);
- Blooming Garden (fohila);
- White Camellias (fohila);
- Fear Death (Mordaken);
- Eulogy for Dave (CrimeGrimes);
- Shell OfA Dream (Krab_Man);
- What is death? (Krab_Man);
- Hino do Reino de Mellennor (LordLimma);
Journals
They constitute the most common and abundant type of written production on the server. Because it is a hardcore server, in which death results in permanent banishment, many players feel the need to record their daily lives, their notable deeds, their friendships, etc. Perhaps as a way to immortalize themselves in such a hostile and punitive world. It is estimated that there are hundreds of journals scattered throughout the server, found or not, which narrate the trajectory of countless players who have passed through this world.
Currently, there is even the /journal command, which allows players to obtain a journal for free.
- r3n2n’s Journal;
- G_A_D_Oytb’s Journal;
- acchuabi’s Journal;
- SafeProject’s Journal;
- Cob4in_’s Journal;
- Krab_Man’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Journals;
- FaelGarcia’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Journals;
- Dilevz’s Journal;
Documentary productions
These are a relatively rarer type of book, since, by definition, they tend to be produced in larger population centers (such as cities, clans, or alliances) with administrative or organizational objectives. They include documents aimed at collective record-keeping, regulation, and administration.
The known examples generally deal with pacts between distinct groups, formal agreements, or compilations of laws and rules that must be followed within a given community.
- The Porto Pact (VeyK);
- Bem-Vindo (ZeroGuintter);
- GuestBook (PsiRobot);
- Concessão (MrNiquitos);
- A Declaração dos Direitos do Homem e do Cidadão (LordLimma);
Historical productions
They encompass books that record the history of a place, a group, or an individual. This is one of the richest forms of production on the server, because it is through these books that the server itself comes to function as its own internal “wiki.”
In these works, players document the history of constructions, cities, significant events, and important figures, preserving collective memory directly within the game world.
- Captain's Log (Ao_Nang / Doctor_Pancake34 / r3n2n);
- Passado (Galnosh);
- Manuscrito de Montecruz (MrNiquitos);
- História dos Membros de Mellennor (MrNiquitos);
- FelNoobCity (MrNiquitos);
- Island Outpost (MrNiquitos);
- Kinzies Lyfe (Phyza);
- Hiraeth (Torihen);
- Last Flight!#3 (Torihen);
Newspapers
Some newspapers emerged on the server with the goal of reporting weekly events. However, possibly due to logistical difficulties in distributing copies, this type of initiative did not achieve great long-term success.
The most well-known journalist on the server was Yeetmaker_, responsible for a newspaper stand located at coordinates 1000 / 1000, which was later destroyed. Among his most famous publications are:
- LC News – Week 37 (Yeetmaker_);
- LC News – Week 36 (Yeetmaker_);
- LC News – Week 35 (Yeetmaker_).
Functional productions (practical manuals)
These are books aimed at assisting new players, offering tips on gameplay, survival, and server mechanics. In general, they take the form of practical survival manuals.
This concept was so well received that, later on, the famous Legendary Survivor Guide emerged, which is automatically given to every player upon spawning on the server. Examples include:
- Tips/Dicas (rillis);
- Guide (Pannekoek15NL);
- DON'T DIE GUIDE (1klkI1 / Pannekoek15NL);
- Flight Manual (Spalmipede);
- Alchemy Atlas (sylil);
- Legendary Survivor Guide;
“Hello” books
Although possibly older, this literary form was popularized by Hippieflippy, who asked several players for books signed by them. It consists of signed and dedicated books, usually given to friends as a form of remembrance.
The textual content is usually minimal (such as greetings, thanks, or brief messages), since its main function is not the text itself, but the author’s signature. In this way, these books serve as personal keepsakes, eternalizing the presence of the player on the server. It is perhaps the most authentically native literary form of the server.
Literary remainder (or residue)
This category includes books that do not present literary or historical value. They are composed only of isolated words, random letters, numbers, or disconnected phrases, without a clear intention of record-keeping, narrative, or artistic expression.
