Trapping
Trapping is an act that is done by a trap operator with the intent to kill another player. Traps can be made to target specific players, or they can be made to kill at random. Trapping is one of the largest non-player dangers for players in Legendary Hardcore.
Fall Trapping
Fall Trapping is an act that is done to places where player activity is concentrated, especially in tunnels or corners, where a player is either pushed into or the floor is moved with pistons to make the player fall into a trap, which is supposed to kill the player. The typical form of this trap is a long hole surrounded by some kind of interactable block to prevent players from using items to save the player, with buttons or signs placed in the hole to further prevent using items.
Typical kinds of Fall Traps
There are two standard kinds of fall traps.
In the first kind of fall trap, the trap is intended to kill the player instantly. This kind of trap may not work on players using a Totem of Undying.
In the second kind of fall trap, there is a kill chamber at the bottom in where the operator of the trap will attack the player's feet through a small gap made through slabs. This type of trap is significantly more effective than the first kind, as it forces the player to use many totems to avoid death.
Effectivity
Fall traps are not considered that effective, especially when there is no operator present. Fall traps pose the largest threat to new players. It is very important to look out for abnormal holes in terrain, random pieces of string on the floor, or to look before one jumps.

Frequency
Fall trapping is not very common in Legendary Hardcore, but it is most frequent in tunnels and houses near spawn.
Explosive Trapping
Explosive Trapping is an act that is done to methods of transportation with the intent to harm or kill a player, through the use of an explosive. There are many different forms of traps, and they can be created on many different forms of transport, such as Nether Portals, Ender Pearl Stasis Chambers, Ice Boat Highways, Tunnels, and even simple terrain.
Types of Explosives
The act of trapping is typically done with some form of explosive, such an End Crystal, Minecart with TNT, or in rarer cases, TNT.
Effectivity

Explosive traps are the most effective and feared traps throughout Legendary Hardcore, with explosive traps being responsible for the deaths of many influential players, such as Th3eternal1 and Hippieflippy. Players have created protocols to check nether portals for traps, and players make effort to warn others of explosive traps. An example of a successful stasis trap is the death of Flamethrower98.
Frequency
Explosive Trapping is the most common type of trap on Legendary Hardcore, and is most commonly done on Nether Portals. Due to their effectivity, they are the most common type of death due to a trap in Legendary Hardcore.
Lava Trapping

Lava Trapping is a more vague type of act that can be defined as any act that uses lava as the main source of damage to kill a target. Examples of lava traps can be things like a fall trap that ends in lava, or a player bringing a target into a hole and placing lava above them.
Effectivity
Lava trapping is a very effective method of trapping new players. However, it is not effective against more experienced players who may have strong armor or Totems of Undying to survive burning damage, or Ender Pearls to escape the lava.
Frequency
Lava trapping is a rare form of trapping in Legendary Hardcore. A possible outlier is DrZirko, who is rumored to have killed players with lava.
Bait Trapping
Bait Trapping is a type of act that involves using an item or player to lure a target into a disadvantageous or decisive position. This can be done in many ways.
Ambiguity involving the definition of a Bait Trap
Bait traps are hard to define, as there is no specific way to kill a target with a bait trap.
For example, a bait trap operator can use a newer player as means to bring a player killer to the area, as the player killer would have intent to kill the newer player. Using this intent, the operator can bring the player killer into a disadvantageous position, like a tunnel or cave, and can attack and kill the player killer in that position. Another type of bait trap is a trapped chest that opens up a floor into a fall trap.
Effectivity
Bait traps are considered somewhat effective, with examples such as player Wusvcs pretending to team with player D1ddV to kill them. This was successful, resulting in the death of d1ddV.
A note from wusvcs
d1ddV was a player killer!
He killed Snakeskin210!
I killed him to get revenge for Snakeskin210!
Frequency
Bait traps are one of the most common type of traps in Legendary Hardcore, with the main type of bait trap happening is an experienced player pretending to team with a player killer to get close to them and kill the player killer.
Miscellaneous Traps
Miscellaneous Traps are kinds of traps that do not fit into the main categories that were listed above. These types of traps may be very rare, obscure, or too potent to normally discuss. The description of these traps will be summaries.
TNT Cannon Trap
A TNT Cannon Trap is a specific form of explosive trap that uses TNT to push more TNT into a target. This target is not necessarily a player, as it can be a build. While this is a form of explosive trap, it is not fully considered as one due to the differences between a typical TNT trap and a TNT Cannon Trap.
Mace Hole Trap
A Mace Hole Trap is a type of Fall Trap that is defined as trapping a target in a hole or pit, and repeatedly attacking them with a Wind Burst Mace until the target dies. This type of trap is different from normal fall traps because the trap operator is going directly into the trap to deal damage to the target, instead of being at the bottom in a kill chamber, or not being present at all.
Entity Cramming Trap
An Entity Cramming Trap is a kind of trap that involves using a large amount of entities in a small area to deal squishing damage to a target. This type of trap is very ineffective, as the target often deals enough squishing damage to the entities in the trap to kill the entities, thus disarming the trap. Entity cramming traps are obsolete in servers with no entity cramming limit.
Dripstone/Anvil Trap
A Dripstone Trap is a type of trap that involves forcing a target into a specific place, usually with a fall trap, and then dropping dripstone stalactites onto the target. Falling dripstone deals extreme damage depending on how far it falls, so this trap can be considered to be somewhat effective, especially against new players or mobs. Similarly, an Anvil Trap involves forcing a target into a specific place, and dropping Anvils onto the target. This is considered to be less effective than dripstone traps, as Anvils tend to stack onto each other, and also deal less damage than dripstone stalactites.
TNT Spam Trap
A TNT Spam Trap is a very specific and ineffective form of explosive trap, possibly being the least effective type of explosive trap. This trap is described as moving near a target, and spamming as much TNT as possible in the area, and setting off the TNT clump with an ignition source such as Flint And Steel, or a Flame enchanted Bow. This trap is seen as extremely ineffective as the TNT explodes in an unpredictable way, often dealing more damage to the operator than the target. Furthermore, the target can simply move away from the trap as it is igniting, which prevents any chance of damage.
