Starter Kit

A starter kit is a set of useful items to help grames survive longer, usually prepared and dispersed by members of the Commonwealth. Starter kits always contain early-game loot like diamonds and food, and sometimes other useful items like netherite upgrade templates, totems, an elytra, shulker shells, and ender pearls.

Origins

Throughout the history of Legendary Hardcore, generous players have always given gear and items to grames. However, Pannekoek15NL was the first player to standardize it into transferable, branded shulker boxes.

Panne-Kit™

The most common starter kit on the server is the Panne-Kit™, inspired by the original kits made by Pannekoek15NL. Currently, Panne-Kits are produced and distributed by members of the Legion of Concordia, although other charitable players have been known to distribute them, like NuggetFrags and Not_A_Griefer.

History

During his life on the server, Pannekoek15NL created an unreasonable amount of Panne-Kits to distribute to new players. As demands increased, he made a starter kit factory containing all of the farms and storage he needed to make his Panne-Kits en-masse, choosing the Valley as the home of this factory. After the Valley was griefed by the Beach, Pannekoek15NL rebuilt his factory in an undisclosed location and shared it with no one until his death. Pannekoek15NL distributed his starter kits to many players that later became notable veterans, including but not limited to:

When Pannekoek15NL died, he shared the location of his factory with a few select friends, and the Legion of Concordia continued the production of kits in his name. Although several members of the Commonwealth know the location of the factory, it is primarily used by Wizard_Snoot and Huntress1301 for the production of Panne-Kits.

Although the contents have changed over time, Panne-Kits typically contain the following items:

• W starter guide, a book written by Pannekoek15NL for his initial starter kits. Because of the Panne-Kit's popularity, this guide is one of the most widely available player books on the server.
• Enchanted diamond armor and tools, usually with weaker enchantments due to being obtained through villager trades. While the original kits contained a diamond sword, subsequent kits made by the Commonwealth left that tool out.
• Totems of Undying, considered a necessity for long-term survival. Every known Panne-Kit has included 3 totems.
• Shulker Shells, a valuable resource for grames who need to move further out into the world. Every known Panne-Kit has included at least 4 shulker shells.
• Ender Pearls, considered a necessity for long-term survival. By providing grames with ender pearls, they can create Ender Pearl Stasis Chambers much earlier in their playtime, potentially saving their lives.
• Cooked Porkchop, the foodstuff of choice for the Panne-Kit.
• Fire Resistance, crucial for mid-game Nether exploration. The item was introduced to the Panne-Kit by Wizard_Snoot, while the original kits did not contain them.
• Map Art. The second known variant of the Panne-Kit, created by Wizard_Snoot, include two pieces of map art.

  The second known variant of the Panne-Kit™ created by Wizard_Snoot. This is the first and only variant that includes map art.
•

Accepting charity, like a starter kit, comes with inherent risk because not every player has good intentions.
