The Order of The Sanctum, established as a dominant force on Legendary Hardcore by August 10, 2025, stands as one of the server's largest and most influential factions, albeit a fading superpower. Originally Dedicated to eradicating player killers and maintaining a pristine spawn area, the Order has largely withdrawn form the Spawn Region to pursue different goals. Although OTS knights routinely silence player killers, The Order as a whole is more dedicated to accruement of wealth and preservation of artifacts, lore, and the dead. Renowned for its ambitious large-scale building projects, the faction is extremely selective, usually only recruiting players with little to no outside ties, and ambition within them.

History

Foundation

The Order Of The Sanctum was a small, peacekeeping faction created and organized on June 25th, 2025, by TheCosmicalKing and SquirrelMC. Cosmical sought SquirrelMC out for their large contributions to spawn, and wished to formulate an organization to preserve Spalmipede's Spawn Dome. The players ArtemyTheVorakh, Bemf, and Spalmipede himself would join in the span of one day. The group's composition was largely composed of newerish players, as the oldest among these players was Spalmipede, joining in May of 2025. Cosmical and Squirrel would unknowingly emulate The Empire's values regarding killing and trapping player killers, however the idea of a protected spawn was a unique one. Very early on an OTS stash was constructed with all manner of building materials to repair Spalmipede's spawn dome.

Early Skirmishes and Building Projects (Burgeoning Faction)

Artemy in a portal trap 6/28/25

The Order received its first test of mettle against the trappers Ta7zz, Lightgreypanda, and InternetFound. Panda and Internet had trapped and killed Th3eternal1 in a portal trap the day after OTS's founding, giving the rising faction a chance to uphold its principles. Over a period of several days, InternetFound would travel to spawn to observe OTS knights in the region. In one instance, TheCosmicalKing detonated an end crystal in his proximity, popping his totem of undying and forcing him to flee. Small undecisive fights like this would become somewhat common in the Order's early days. As time progressed, the trio's traps would claim the lives of 4 more LHC members, a few of which were regulars, such as Purplebaron2. Ta7zz, and Lightgreypanda would evidently grow bored of the server and become inactive in early July. TheCosmicalKing similarly departed for 2 weeks around this time, leaving the Knights of OTS and InternetFound in a tense standoffish way. Only ArtemyTheVorakh bridged the gap, constructing a shulker farm with InternetFound at spawn, and seemingly befriending him. This relationship, which was seemingly turning cordial, was flipped upside down when Spalmipede located InternetFound's base. Spalmipede stole a shulker of armor trims, but returned it at Internet's request. InternetFound approached to open the returned box, only to discover it was trapped. The TnT cart trap ended up ending his life. This action by Spalmipede was the cause for a falling out between Artemy and a few OTS members, as he was convinced by this time InternetFound had turned for good. The killing of Internet and raiding of his base left Ta7zz and Lightgreypanda to become inactive (until ta7zz's temporary return for the Egg Hunt), which marked the end of the trapper trio. Not long after InternetFound's death, ArtemyTheVorakh was slain by a zombie whilst afk, effectively silencing his voice. Whilst the Order's first loss, and a deep one at that, Spalmipede's actions and Artemy's subsequent death would set a precedent for the Order's policies going forward. Mercy would become somewhat of a rarity when dealing with killers, and the faction would not forget.

During this period the Order also pursued various building projects. The biggest of which was The Sanctum Yard Cemetery, a vast graveyard kickstarted by ArtemyTheVorakh's ambitions for a large compound to house the dead. Artemy's wishes would come to fruition, as at the height of its usage, the cemetery housed more than 300 player heads. The Sanctum Yard created a large pool for the Order to sink its material wealth and manpower in to, as well as solidify the moral direction of the group. That of honoring and respecting the dead, and valuing the living. Members imagined that steel would meet those who would not comply. Other OTS build projects include ArtemyTheVorakh's small checkpoint located in a jungle with a skeleton grinder and basic utilities, as well as spawn repair. Repairing and maintaining of spawn would become a large focal point of OTS values, and Order slaves and members alike would contribute greatly to its upkeep.

The Longest Day, and the Subsumption of Vortex (Burgeoning Faction)

As the server chugged along into August, members of Team Vortex gradually seemed to become more active after a slight dip in inactivity. TheCosmicalKing and PoorGrammar313 would begin negotiations for a partial merging of the two factions. They agreed upon mutual resource sharing, but that the two factions would remain separate entities. This agreement would dissolve after Poorgrammar313's death at the hands of Flagman45 during the events of The Longest Day. TLD also saw the death of beloved Co-Grand Warden of the Order, SquirrelMC. SquirrelMC's death would heavily hinder OTS operations and morale, as many members like his co-leader TheCosmicalKing and Knight MikoYey were deeply affected by his passing. The death of Poorgrammar313 likewise caused a wave of despair, as such an old and influential member of the playerbase dying struck a similar blow to morale. Poorgrammar's passing caused Team Vortex's remaining members, Thowan, Zanther76, and Alcred to unanimously agree to be absorbed into the Order of The Sanctum, swelling the faction's numbers greatly. The Order took a heavy hit during the events of TLD, even so it remained to uphold its ideals. The Order would receive a boost in morale however, as in a few weeks time, Poorgrammar313 would be revived due to Flagman45's utilization of cheats.

The Story of Hammerfall (Golden Era)

Even before the alliance between Team Vortex and OTS, Order Grand Warden TheCosmicalKing continuously pushed for the idea of a megabase to be constructed. Hammerfall was an incredibly ambitious project, and was the subject of discussion for months on end. It required vast amounts of planning, resources, and was the first OTS project to involve the use of slave labor. Hippieflippy was enslaved by the Order of the Sanctum (for crimes against the server) and forced to mine large quantities of deepslate. Galxy Cat, a later member of the Order, was contracted to mine 500,000 blocks of deepslate for a compensation of a stack of netherite ingots. Work on Hammerfall started in late August, and comprised the majority of OTS focuses in September. Late August to early October can be considered the Order's Golden Era, as it upheld an active membership of 15 online players contributing to its goals, police work, and construction. An extremely elaborate cathedral was developed for the project, and perhaps the most terraforming ever seen on the server was initiated. Work on Hammerfall skyrocketed OTS members into statistics categories, such as spruce logs chopped, dirt placed, and other categories. Spalmipede's use of TnT bombers would see entire mountains leveled, and TheCosmicalKing led a division of 5 members in an entire ring around where the base was planned to be constructed, hacking away the circumference of a circle that would be 3,000 blocks in diameter. This was done for the purpose of the Hammerwall, a massive deepslate wall 15 blocks high and 7 blocks wide that dominated the spruce forest scape. The Hammerfall "Hammerfarms" region would also be developed, and ShyAlly would begin the excruciating process of preparing a "perimeter" for large farms with the help of elaborate and expansive redstone cutters and saws, as well as bombers. Despite countless hours of work and dedication, Hammerfall would remain a distant dream to the Order's members. Work stopped almost entirely when it was discovered that Zanther76 had leaked the coordinates of the base to a regular LHC player, ZMEDUSAZ, who had travelled to the base, into a hidden stash only 5 members knew of, and stole the "Legendary Heads" shulker. This orange shulker contained heads incredibly important to server lore, BlueLegionary's, R2aye's, Yehomere's, and many others, such as deceased OTS members. This conflict intensified over the course of a week, and contains much more intricacy than will be discussed. In the end, ZMEDUSAZ was banned for entity radar from some old screenshots dredged up by an OTS member, and Zanther76 would escape a stasis trap thanks to the help of his teammate KenoTM. Zanther would become essentially permanently inactive after this development, and Keno would burn the shulker of legendary heads at his request. Members of the Order mostly abandoned Hammerfall due to its newfound danger, and the region became strictly farm only. To this day, many running and working OTS farms in the region contribute to the Order's industrial might, however its planned glory was never fully realized. The hulking Hammerwall lays at a 5th of completion, the Estate Region remains abandoned and collecting dust, and leveled mountains and plain regions remain empty and unused. Hammerfall remains a cautionary tale to its founders, and remains a sour stain on OTS history as a whole. Not long after this debacle, HippieFlippy would be killed in a portal trap on the 14th of October. These events, as well as a couple others, would relinquish firm Order control over the spawn region, and greatly reduce OTS influence on the server as a whole.

The Age of HippieFlippy (Golden Era)

Order and Porto Seguro Collaborate

Detailed In Hippieflippy's wiki page, Hippie was first accosted by SquirrelMC in the end dimension for the killing a player. SquirrelMC saw an oppurtunity, and rather than killing the young player killer, Squirrel allowed Hippie to repent for his crimes via a sentence of penal labor. Hippie repaired spawn and mined large quantities of deepslate as mentioned, before he was released. With the majority of the Order finding his eagerness to correct his wrongdoings respectable, as well as appreciating his laid back nature, he was inducted into the Order after the events of TLD. Despite the deep moral blow of SquirrelMC's death, The Order was able to greatly expand its influence and control in the spawn region through the efforts of Hippie, as well as new recruits like Arius Void and FatalxEquinox, that comprised most of the OTS's main strike forces. Other new recruits during this time like Spongeclipboard and Fohila bolstered OTS ranks. OTS knights would collaborate closely with Pumpkin Cult members, as well as those from the Porto Seguro faction. HippieFlippy amassed an incredible number of kills on player killers, and yet even so remained incredibly philanthropic. Following in MikoYey's footsteps, Hippie would give out totems, elytras, and many other resources out of the kindness of his heart. The age of Hippie was the most active the Order had ever been, and allowed it to expand and leverage its large manpower and wealth to the fullest. Another example of OTS exerting its influence was Spalmipede's finding of Stalemuffin's base, a player killer that tormented the server for around 2 weeks. Spalmipede stasis trapped and killed Stalemuffin, and forced his teammate to combat log. This achievement once again proved Spalmipede's cunning, as it resembled his earlier killing of InternetFound. This kill would bolster Order confidence in itself as an organization. Towards the tail end of the Golden Era, OTS member BloodyOrphan came to TheCosmicalKing with suggestions regarding the Order's command structure. With Cosmical as its Grand Warden, and Chamberlains below him, authority was often lost because of the bloated nature of the faction. The Order underwent time to reshape itself, and over the period of 3 days, a complete restructure was achieved. Elections were held for Grand Knight and Grand Mason, and an Officer Corps was established. (The Order Officer Corps or OOC would almost become a faction within a faction). The role of Chamberlain was reduced to that of a cosmetic role, and most Order members were simply that of knight rank for simplicity. With a completely restructured ranking and command system, the Order was able to shed most of its fluff to become more strategic in its operations. The OOC proved to be an exceptional addition, allowing higher ranking OTS members to assess threats with scrutiny before detailing plans of action to its wider members. A prime example of this is Operation Overkill, a resounding success for OOC objectives. After this strategic victory Hippie's death would strike an end to this era, and the Order's Golden Era itself would end following the deaths of Arius_Void and FatalxEquinox.

Limbo and Limited Revival (Twilight Era)

Following the deaths of several key figures in the Order, OTS influence would be vastly drained. The deaths of said members caused many others to become inactive. The Order discord would become a general chatroom for dead members discussing other servers they had moved on to, and activity in the Order tanked as a result. Thus, the Order remained in a state of limbo. Its members sometimes ventured out to the spawn region to maintain peace, but no longer with nearly as firm a grip as they enjoyed previously. Because of this reduced power, the OOC began construction on a new base for the Order, a base known as Isla Infinita. Isla Infinita, or II, serves as the proper command center for the Order at time of writing. This is where the Order's Centurions and higher collect artifacts, preserve history, and generally maintain the faction from fracturing. It is the proper brain stem of the Order, and serves the purposes Hammerfall would have, albeit on a significantly less grand scale. During this era, a few members such as Salefranguito and Deruzion would join the Order's ranks, following the dissolution of Porto Seguro, and the Pumpkin Cult's waning power after DM1600's death, (later revived). A limited revival would occur with these additions to the Order, as Sale's contributions to police work would be widely renowned server-wide. It was also around this time that BloodyOrphan would unveil a large schematic of an Obsidian Star, modeled after The Order's official seal. The star comprised of 130,000 obsidian, and was completed in just 2 days. The OTS star is still found at spawn, and has suffered very minor weathering, but largely remains intact. The quick construction of such a hulking sky build gave hope to the Order's members, as despite fading power, large feats could still be accomplished. Another significant boost to the Order's morale was the success of Operation Rooster. Operation Rooster was made possible by the Knight (now Centurion) Bemf, who recieved a message from an unknown user saying that they had the coordinates to Luquitas Alpha's base. Luquitas Alpha was a notorious player killer, primarily of new players. Luquitas had also killed THE PR0CT0R, a long standing regular of LHC. Grand Warden TheCosmicalKing and knight Salefranguito (who had been hunting Luquitas for months), traveled to the coordinates. Unable to locate the base, Cosmical and Sale searched nearby nether portals and overworld forests. Sale then recieved a message from the user with the information that the base was located near a tree farm. TheCosmicalKing stumbled upon said tree farm, and within 10 minutes had identified a patch of powdered snow he dug up with his shovel, discovering the ladder to Luquitas's base. The audio recording is lost now, but Sale and Cosmical were both freaking out at the discovery. Upon descending the ladder, the pair found Luquitas's stasis, with his pearl present. The pair constructed an obisidan box around the pearl, and Salefranguito waited almost a total of 6 hours camping the location, an incredible feat of dedication. Using Sherek Berg's connection to Luquitas, Sale was able to make Luquitas log on with a fake message that Sherek himself needed assistance. Upon Luquitas logging in, Sale tripped his stasis but was unable to deliver a finishing blow, (due to TheCosmicalKing's poor obisidan box design). Luquitas escaped, and Cosmical and Sale engaged in an almost 10 minute long chase that saw Luquitas blown up by Cosmical when he attempted to land and regear. This monumental victory significantly improved confidence and morale within the Order, and saw it revived to a degree that allowed its influence to be felt again. With the addition of Deerjammer, a skilled mace pvper, the Order once again was able to leverage its knights to bring authority to the spawn region once more.

Decline and Return to Limbo (Twilight Era)

This period of Order activity which seemed to defy the tragedies that had befallen the faction was upended when Salefranguito accidentally blew himself up using his own end crystals. He had been wearing his elytra at the time, significantly reducing the protection he had. Sale's death yet again crippled the Order's sphere of influence. Sale himself will go down as one of the most effective player killer hunters to have ever graced the server, ending his run with over 50 kills of malicious players. Around this time 1590283112 would join LHC and kill both TheAcidWitch13 and Dm1600. These events are included in OTS history to understand the reasoning behind Deruzion's cause of death (suicide), and Deerjammer's death to the hands of 159. Deruzion's suicide was the culmination of burnout and the death of friends, meanwhile Deerjammer was a constant annoyance to 159, constantly harrying him with assaults from a position of relative invulnerability. Using turtle master and a mace, Deerjammer was able to effectively harass 159 and drain their totems and armor durability. Deerjammer constantly engaged in this activity as a form of revenge for Acid and DM's demise. This would come to a head when 159 would log in to the end to find Deerjammer near the portal. Because Deerjammer had donned a curse of binding piglin head and was in her elytra, she was practically on half armor points. 159 used face placed crystals to end her, despite Deerjammer's commendable retotem efforts. These 3 deaths essentially caused the collapse of the Order's main body of personnel. By this time, the Order only really consisted of the Order Officer Corps, which is where it sits today. Even so, the OTS is a faction that still maintains and upholds its values, preserving works of art, lore, and honoring ArtemyTheVorakh's goal of honoring the dead. At time of writing, OTS holds around 15% of the dead population's player heads, a little over 2000. Every now and again, Order Centurions in the spawn region terminate player killers when possible. Though the faction is not what it used to be, it is still one of the most prominent and indeed the oldest faction on the face of Legendary Hardcore. Whether or not its stage of twilight comes before dawn, or before dusk remains to be seen however.

Alliances

The Order of The Sanctum's oldest alliance dates back to July when the kingdom of Mellenor and OTS signed an alliance. On August 23rd, 2025, TheCosmicalKing along with Mikoyey and Hippieflippy would travel to Necropolis, capital of the sprouting Pumpkin Cult, and sign a mutual defense treaty. The same would be done with Porto Seguro, Cosmical and Veyk would sign an alliance together. To this day, none of the signing factions with which the Order has had an official alliance with are present or prominent except with the Legion of Concordia. Lazarfish0226 and Cosmical signed a mutual defense and trade treaty on September 18th, 2025. With the ruin of the Pumpkin Cult after DM and Acid's demises, LoC remains the Order's closest partner. The Legion of Concordia is also the only faction to hold an embassy for the Order on the server, highlighting their closeness and alignment of values.
