History
Foundation
Porto Seguro was founded by LewanBr, VeyK, Thakrs, Lup4_Lup4, salefranguito and Cob4in_ on 11th august. In response to griefing to Bridgetown in early August, many former residents who were unsettled or without a home moved to Porto Seguro.

Porto Seguro was founded by the trio Thakrs, VeyK, and LewanBr on August 4, 2025. The city was created with the purpose of serving as a meeting point and a place of assistance for new players, especially Brazilians, although it welcomed players of various other nationalities.

Its founders joined the server after a video published by the Brazilian YouTuber Zvelid, which also attracted many other players. Some of the founders and early residents, such as Thakrs, had previously been active members in the construction of New Bridgetown, a city created with the goal of welcoming new players. Following the griefing of New Bridgetown and the rise of several player killers in the area, these members decided to abandon the settlement. They then came together and founded a new city, located slightly farther from Spawn, while maintaining the same purpose of welcoming and assisting new players, especially those arriving through Zvelid’s videos.

Historically, only the aforementioned trio, Thakrs, VeyK, and LewanBr , are regarded as the founders. Even so, since other players arrived during the initial stages of the city’s foundation and contributed significantly to its construction, some came to be recognized as co-founders. Among them are: LUP4_LUP4, Benjaminaosei, Cob4in_, and salefranguito.

As the city was planned as a support hub for beginners, its founders initially chose not to open it to the public immediately. They preferred to wait until the first farms were completed before accepting new residents. The official opening was originally scheduled for a Saturday, when a larger number of players would be online. However, due to construction delays, the city was ultimately opened on Monday, August 4, 2025, with an inauguration ceremony held via Discord.

The city was named Porto Seguro by Thakrs, and the name carries complementary meanings. On the same day the city was opened to the public, the first death among its members occurred: LUP4_LUP4, one of the co-founders, was killed by a zombie while AFK in the city center. Later, a similar death took place: the player ZelterNext was killed by phantoms, also while AFK.

These two deaths in and around the city, involving players who had placed excessive trust in its safety, gave rise to an internal joke based on the city’s name. Since “Porto Seguro” literally means “Safe Harbor,” players began joking that the city was not as safe as its name suggested. The first recorded mention of this joke was made by EnaZaghetti, who wrote “porto (quase) seguro,” a play on the name implying “(almost) safe harbor.”

As a consequence of these early deaths, following ZelterNext’s death, a rule was established in the city stating that no one could reside there without first obtaining the advancement that allows phantoms to be disabled.

Among the three founders, the first to die was LewanBr, who died from a fall while flying with an elytra, without having a totem equipped in his off-hand. His death caused great commotion among Porto Seguro’s members, especially because just minutes earlier he had been enthusiastically building farms with other players.

The second founder to die was Thakrs. His death was deeply felt by all who knew him and represented a significant blow to Porto Seguro. Thakrs was widely regarded as the city’s main pillar: the most enthusiastic about the project, the most active player, regularly staying up through the night building farms and decorations, and directly assisting dozens of players at Spawn. He died due to TNT explosions during a severe lag spike while building and operating a wood farm. His death profoundly impacted his friends and the city he had helped build.

As a result, VeyK became the only surviving member of the founding trio.

As Porto Seguro grew, its residents began to seek even larger farms. However, due to its proximity to Spawn, there were concerns that more complex farms might become targets of griefing. Thus, Pentágono emerged, a base featuring large automated structures that became the new home for many former residents of Porto Seguro, such as VeyK, Truy1, salefranguito, NoobDeGuerra, MrNiquitos .DiplexMold2023, and FelOdisseus, among others.

Unusually for bases located so close to Spawn, Porto Seguro remained for a long period without major griefs, although small sporadic attacks did occur. Porto Seguro was one of the most populous settlement on the server. The town's residents are Brazilian by majority, although English-speaking players have also been welcomed as both guests and residents.

Foundation

Inauguration

As the city was planned as a support hub for beginners, its founders initially chose not to open it to the public immediately. They preferred to wait until the first farms were completed before accepting new residents. The official opening was originally scheduled for a Saturday, when a larger number of players would be online. However, due to construction delays, the city was ultimately opened on Monday, August 4, 2025, with an inauguration ceremony held via Discord.

Name Origin

The city was named Porto Seguro by Thakrs, and the name carries complementary meanings. In Portuguese, “Porto Seguro” literally translates to “Safe Port,” fitting for a settlement that functioned as a port and was built in a harbor region. At the same time, the name evokes the idea of a “safe harbor” , a place of shelter and protection. According to Thakrs, it was chosen to reflect the goal of being “a safe harbor for new players.”

The name also has historical significance. The city was initially created to welcome Brazilian players, and Porto Seguro is a well-known Brazilian tourist city, traditionally recognized as the place where the first Portuguese arrived in Brazil and therefore regarded as the symbolic birthplace of the country

First Deaths and the Safety Joke

Deaths of the Founders

From City to Order

Porto Seguro was not created with the intention of becoming a major city on the server, but rather a point of welcome and assistance. Because it was built near Spawn, there was a natural limitation to its expansion. Even so, the city grew and developed far beyond what had originally been expected.

Over time, the conception of Porto Seguro as merely a city gradually gave way to the idea of Porto Seguro as an organization, composed primarily of Brazilian players and founded on mutual aid and the maintenance of peace on the server. Gradually, it came to occupy the space previously associated with Bossa Nova, becoming more than just a settlement.

As an order, Porto Seguro played an influential role in events such as the trial and conviction of thefenix303, when he was accused of griefing and stealing from the city.

Pentágono

As Porto Seguro grew, its residents began to seek even larger farms. However, due to its proximity to Spawn, there were concerns that more complex farms might become targets of griefing. For this reason, under the leadership of VeyK, only the most trusted players were invited to establish a distant base dedicated to the construction of megafarms, with the clear objective of developing every farm in the game in the most efficient and profitable way possible.

Thus, Pentágono emerged, a base featuring large automated structures that became the new home for many former residents of Porto Seguro, such as VeyK, Truy1, salefranguito, NoobDeGuerra, MrNiquitos .DiplexMold2023, and FelOdisseus, among others.

Abandonment

Over time, the deaths of many longtime residents, including leaders and founders, combined with the decline in new players joining the server, led Porto Seguro into a gradual process of abandonment. The founding of Pentágono, which attracted many of its most active members, further accelerated this decline.

Even so, many former residents continue to visit the city frequently, whether out of nostalgia or to make use of some of its remaining farms.

Late Griefing

Porto Seguro after its final grief, involving lavacasts

Unusually for bases located so close to Spawn, Porto Seguro remained for a long period without major griefs, although small sporadic attacks did occur. Eventually, however, a major attack destroyed several houses with TNT and burned many wooden structures. The perpetrator was identified as Max_UHC, who was later killed by salefranguito. His head was subsequently displayed in the center of salefranguito’s base in Pentágono as a trophy.

More recently, around February 2, 2026, the city suffered another significant grief, involving TNT and lavacasts in the city center, possibly marking its definitive end. The perpetrator of this attack remains unknown.

Zvelid

The YouTuber Zvelid recorded several videos in which he visited Porto Seguro, showcasing its constructions and recounting its history. His final video was published just a few days before the city suffered the major lavacast grief, at a time when it was still partially intact, thereby preserving an important historical record of its condition shortly before its destruction.

Houses in Porto Seguro are built in a medieval style with tall stylised roofs. A large gothic castle built by riquepauli, Ravxss and LucFlow is located to the west of the town. Porto also features a City Hall, built mainly from sandstone and related materials. Designed by Spark_03 with help from residents, the building serves as the community’s administrative center.
