Spawn Town is a communal settlement located at the world's origin at X:0, Z:0. The town offers temporary accommodation and resources for new players and travellers, as well as serving as a common meeting ground.
Characteristics
Unlike most other settlements on the server, the construction of Spawn Town was not a coordinated effort. Instead, it has been shaped by successive additions and contributions from many different players and groups over time. Eight roads run out from the centre of the town, with the east and west spokes having been constructed with ice to enable high-speed travel along the world's x-axis.
Due to its central location, Spawn Town has been a continued target for griefers and has been completely destroyed multiple times. Despite this, the town is regularly rebuilt.
History
Early era
The site of Spawn Town is located in a Taiga forest along the bank of a river that runs to the sea in the north of the Spawn Region. West of the town was a large, natural pillar formation that would eventually become known as The Spire. Before player activity, the area in and around Spawn Town was almost entirely forested.
Yehomere and Thowan were among the first players to establish a temporary shelter at the world's origin in early March 2025. Throughout the month, farms and other infrastructure were established by a range of contributors. An early tradition emerged in Spawn Town during March that involved players leaving signs under the an oak tree called the 'Spawn Tree'.
Spawn Town, along with several other settlements in the region, suffered extensive griefing and lava casting during the Coalition Against _6_1 and Peanut War towards the end of March. No significant repairs were made until almost a month later at the end of April, when players such as r2aye, ViziroinTV and CommandMaster256 repaired damaged terrain and structures. Large wheat and bamboo fields were planted around the town, as well as several towers and a packed ice castle. In May 2025, graves started to appear around Spawn Town to honour dead players.
First spawn cleanup and The Domes
On the 18th of June 2025, the northern area of Spawn Town was decimated by TNT-duper flying machines built by OrestiosChunk and RedReaperxd. The resulting string of craters spanned roughly 100 blocks in length and up to 50 blocks in depth. Between the 21st and 22nd of June 2025, a significant cleanup operation led by SquirrelMC patched the damaged terrain, added lighting around Spawn Town and removed damaged structures.
On the 25th of June 2025, Spalmipede constructed a central rotunda in Spawn Town called The Dome that housed the town's Nether Portal. The Dome experienced minor griefing, but remained largely intact until being destroyed by jabiroscaoficial on the 16th of July 2025. On the 24th of July 2025, Spalmipede built a second central structure called The Domes that stood until September 2025, when they were destroyed by Flagman45.
August expansion and sky writing
August 2025 saw an expansion of Spawn Town and the construction of the Pink Puh Club, Canes, Lea's Village, Jeighcke's Aquarium and various other establishments. Sky writing- the tradition of writing a name in the sky with obsidian- became increasingly common throughout September.
Degradation and second spawn cleanup
Between October and December 2025, Spawn Town experienced persistent, low-level griefing that gave the area a grittier and more anarchic appearance. Most structures were significantly damaged and the terrain itself was a patchwork of cobblestone and pumpkin blocks. The craters to the north of Spawn Town that had been patched in June 2025 were once again exposed and The Spire was partially covered in water.
In January 2026, a loose group called the Spawn Mafia organised a cleanup operation of Spawn Town that involved patching terrain, removing broken structures and building a central blackstone platform. The operation was praised by much of the community, but attracted some controversy for the removal of sky writing.
On the 19th of January 2025, The Spire was destroyed by c_cp.
Current state
Since February 2025, Spawn Town has been flooded with shallow water.
