On a hardcore server, a player's death inevitably impacts those who knew them. This sentiment of mourning (though in some cases celebration) has given rise to graveyards, in-game messages such as F or RIP, and death reactions on the Discord server.
Death Reactions on Discord
Some players, due to having more acquaintances, friends, teammates, and generally being friendlier or better-known across the server, tend to receive a higher number of Discord reactions, as they generate stronger feelings in a larger number of people. However, it's worth noting that a higher reaction count does not necessarily mean that player was more beloved by the community, as famous player killers and griefers often receive a considerable number of reactions celebrating their deaths.
Furthermore, in cases where a phrase is written using letter reactions on Discord, there is an inflation in reaction numbers that does not necessarily indicate greater fondness for that person. It is also worth pointing out that the same individual can react with dozens of different emojis, meaning the reaction count does not reflect the absolute number of players who reacted.
