That first project was the construction of an island at the coordinates 20K,0. The island included a dock with several signs detailing its purpose as well as a long bridge leading to the island itself which was fully constructed by Fohila. At one point, the island contained a medium-sized home and a wall of stripped oak along the perimeter, but those have since been torn down after a griefing incident. Fohila stayed at this island for the first 24+ hours of their playtime, still fearing interactions with other players; though, they were warming up to the idea of meeting people as they interacted more in the chat.

That same day, Fohila was almost killed at spawn by the user Sizzleleeen but was saved by SquirrelMC. Later, Fohila would begin walking back to their island and complete construction of their home and walls. Hippie was invited shortly after, being the first user to see this island aside from Fohila themselves. Having just finished the home, they had sorted everything neatly into chests, including all of their armor and tools. That night, Sizzle completely griefed and robbed Fohila's home along with setting a lava trap they hoped would kill them. The next morning, Fohila logged on to falling 20+ blocks through their floor to the trap at the bottom; however, the trap didn't catch them as they pearled onto a nearby wall and clutched with water. They lived from the incident but now had a ruined home and no items; yet, they remained hopeful and reached out to newly made friends who helped regear them, almost with more equipment than they had before being robbed. They ultimately decided to tear down the remnants of the home and island walls and move somewhere else after the incident.

In the coming days, most of Fohila's time was spent hanging out with Hippie and other players, visiting several bases and players now that they had an elytra and felt safer after obtaining their mace, named GAMBIT. In this time, they also became set on interviewing Miko after the events of The Longest Day, which she played a significant role in and lost many people from. Ultimately, the interviews were unfinished before Fohila's death. Only one of the six planned sections were completed and signed.

The interviews were interrupted to hold a funeral for Squirrel and PoorGrammar313 who had died during The Longest Day, and Miko asked if Fohila would like to come. Just hours later that day, however, Fohila met death in the End after Hippie invited them to fight the dragon again. They had forgotten to restock totems and believed they had 3 in their inventory, more than enough to defeat the dragon; however, they only had two. Both totems were popped by the dragon knocking Fohila off of the obsidian pillars, something they were helpless against with no water bucket or pearls. Following both pops, all of the crystals were destroyed. Fohila landed two elytra mace hits onto the dragon, taking large chunks off of its health bar; however, without the wind burst enchantment on their mace, they were swatted around by the dragon after each hit while falling. Twice, Fohila was only hit to the side and able to survive by putting their elytra on. The final, third time was less fortunate as they were hit straight down, falling 60+ blocks in less than a second after the mace hit landed and the dragon hit them. The death was extremely preventable and entirely caused by an oversight from Fohila and a sense of pride in their mace.

(a poem written by Fohila after they died, never put into a book in the server)

east. always east.

the word itself was a promise. a compass wound tight in my ribs. twenty thousand meters of silence, and still i thought i would find eternity waiting.

i built a dock before the end. strange, isn’t it? to leave behind wood and water, when what i wanted was lightning without end.

i tell myself it is enough. that perhaps one day they will gather there. lay down flowers. say a few words. let the waves hold the silence i can no longer carry.

i tell myself this, but i do not believe it.

their voices, i still hear them. muted. hollow. as if through glass. if i close my eyes too tightly, they almost sound near—until the echo folds in on itself and i remember i cannot return.

what is death but being left behind by eternity? i thought i would master it, make it mine. but eternity slips, like water through my fingers.

i am not sad. not exactly. i am only… knotted. like rope on the dock, pulled too tight, left with no ship to bind.

east. i said it once. just that. my last word. my last direction. as if the syllable itself could carry me further.

but it did not. it left me here, in the hush beyond voices, watching the horizon move on without me.

if you walk east, or find my dock still standing, stand there for me. let the sea say my name in a language without sound.

do not look for me in eternity. i am already gone. only the echo remains. only the east.

Fohila was a player on the Legendary Hardcore server for just over three weeks, an extremely short time on the server for the connections they made with their fellow players. Although mostly a solo player, Fohila had several interactions with a lot of active players and authored several books, including two long ones which are owned by the player natonite. They also wrote a number of poems for players and kept a journal that was never signed before their death.

History

Fohila joined the server on August 2nd and was killed by the Ender Dragon on August 23 after forgetting to reequip a totem.

Fohila has been a long-time hardcore mode player, but they had not played much Minecraft for about a year before joining this server. At the start of the server, they decided to go to 0,0 where they were hoping to find a town. At those origin coordinates was the Spawn Region, which they were amazed with. After seeing the beautiful builds there, Fohila decided they wanted to build amazing things on the server that could be remembered and cherished by other players.

Initially, however, Fohila was very distrustful of other players. They wanted to build great things that people could love and remember, but they wanted to avoid interaction as much as possible due to a fear of dying. Because of that desire to avoid players, Fohila picked one direction and ran as far as they could for a few hours. On that journey, they came across an area at the coordinates 10K,0 which inspired their first project in the server.

That first project was the construction of an island at the coordinates 20K,0. The island included a dock with several signs detailing its purpose (along with stating their goal to reach the eastern world border 500K out without Nether travel, a goal they would fail to accomplish) as well as a long bridge leading to the island itself which was fully constructed by Fohila.

One day, Fohila asked a friend to join the server, so they began moving towards spawn again for the first time to pick up their friend. This friend never ended up joining, but this was the first time Fohila met other players. One of these players was MikoYey who gave them a few of their first totems despite Fohila’s attempt to not take them. In turn, they ended up writing a book to Miko and hiding it somewhere with a god apple for her to get at a later date. After that, Miko was Fohila’s first technical ally and positive interaction on the server.

After that interaction, Fohila continued to explore spawning again, as it had been a few weeks since their last visit. This exploration eventually led them to a spawn building based on the restaurant Cane’s. This is where they met their second (and closest) ally hippieflip420 while writing a series of poems in the corner of the restaurant built by him. The two spoke about writing and became friends from that point on.

These interviews took place far, far away from spawn on a landmass Fohila had named "Sovereign," intending to build a megabase there: a tribute to their original goal on the server to build beautiful things. In the end, all that was built on that island was a dock despite the immense plans made for it. The interviews were interrupted to hold a funeral for Squirrel and PoorGrammar313 who had died during The Longest Day, and Miko asked if Fohila would like to come. During that funeral, Fohila was also inducted into The Order Of The Sanctum.

The final, third time was less fortunate as they were hit straight down, falling 60+ blocks in less than a second after the mace hit landed and the dragon hit them. The death was extremely preventable and entirely caused by an oversight from Fohila and a sense of pride in their mace.

After their death, Hippie panicked to gather all of their items, and other players entered the end. It's unclear who killed the dragon in that fight due to the end portal being glitched and allowing exit despite the dragon still being alive. Hippie fled from the End with Fohila's gear and head, taking it all to Hammerfall for safekeeping.

Poem For Death

(a poem written by Fohila after they died, never put into a book in the server)

it ends quietly. too quietly. not thunder. not lightning. only the faint creak of wood on a dock no one will tend forever.

east. always east.

the word itself was a promise. a compass wound tight in my ribs. twenty thousand meters of silence, and still i thought i would find eternity waiting.

but the world does not yield. the border does not break. and now i stand here, further away than any horizon.

i built a dock before the end. strange, isn’t it? to leave behind wood and water, when what i wanted was lightning without end.

i tell myself it is enough. that perhaps one day they will gather there. lay down flowers. say a few words. let the waves hold the silence i can no longer carry.

i tell myself this, but i do not believe it.

their voices, i still hear them. muted. hollow. as if through glass. if i close my eyes too tightly, they almost sound near—until the echo folds in on itself and i remember i cannot return.

what is death but being left behind by eternity? i thought i would master it, make it mine. but eternity slips, like water through my fingers.

i am not sad. not exactly. i am only… knotted. like rope on the dock, pulled too tight, left with no ship to bind.

east. i said it once. just that. my last word. my last direction. as if the syllable itself could carry me further.

but it did not. it left me here, in the hush beyond voices, watching the horizon move on without me.

if you walk east, or find my dock still standing, stand there for me. let the sea say my name in a language without sound.

do not look for me in eternity. i am already gone. only the echo remains. only the east.
