The Church of the Poppy were a pseudoreligion on Legendary Hardcore in September 2025. The group planted fields of poppies around graves to honour the dead.
History
The Church of the Poppy was jointly founded by Pineapplefish1 and VoodooSpirits in September 2025. The pair established a small settlement south of the Spawn Region which included houses, a central community building and a large field of poppies where graves were built for dead players.
On the 22nd of September 2025, OtaCato, StrayTunic, and grpp were invited to join the group and provided with basic resources by Pineapplefish1. As the new cohort of members were settling in and expanding the settlement, VoodooSpirits used the recently constructed Shyway to travel deep in to The End in search of Elytra. While exploring an End City, VoodooSpirits became overwhelmed by Shulkers and died while attempting to escape with an Ender Pearl.
Following the death of their teammate, Pineapplefish1 and grpp travelled to the site of their death and were able to successfully retrieve VoodooSpirits player head. Emboldened by this, they decided to travel the full length of the Shyway to the worldborder.

Worldborder incident
At the worldborder, Pineapplefish1 and grpp left a was here sign before deciding to attempt to travel beyond the border. Pineapplefish1 was the first to travel outside the worldborder by using a boat, and instantly began to take damage. Though they attempted to pass back through, but were unsuccessful and on the 22nd of Sepetember 2025 became the first player to die by leaving the confines of the world. Immediately after Pineapplefish1's death, grpp sent messages in chat indicating that they were about to attempt to retrieve the head. Grpp managed to travel to the site of Pineapple1's death and retrieve several items, but died before they were able to take the head and return.
