Deaths are announced in chat and accompanied by the sound of thunder. By far the most common responses to death messages are 'F' and 'RIP', with a combined sum of over 16,000 reactions. 'F' is marginally more popular than 'RIP', making up 54% of reactions.

== Memorials ==
As well as chat reactions, physical graves and memorials are routinely built to honour deceased players. While graves are often built by friends or teammates, it is not uncommon for players to construct simple graves at the site of a death. Player heads (which are automatically placed at the location of a death) are occasionally buried in a grave, but due to the risk of grave robbing many players opt to instead honour a death without burial.

Many settlements have established graveyards honouring the passing of residents and clan members, and several cemeteries have been constructed- of which the [[Sanctum Yard Cemetery]] is the most expansive.
