Th3eternal1: added new fastest death

Death is the permanent and irreversible cessation of a player’s participation on Legendary Hardcore. Upon dying, a player cannot respawn and is immediately banned from the server.

As of the 3rd of September 2025, 3,291 player deaths have been recorded, with the average lifetime of a player being 7.2 hours. The shortest life was that of MrFateeste, who was killed by [[hippieflippy]] after 5 seconds on October 12th, 2025. Players are generally most vulnerable during the first hour of playtime where they are at the highest risk of dying to hostile mobs or environmental hazards.

== Cause of Death ==
Cause of death can broadly be classified as being the consequence of mobs, environment or other players.

==== Death by Mob ====
Roughly half of player deaths are caused by hostile mobs. Death by skeleton is the most common mob-related death- particularly during the first hour of playtime when players may not yet have crafted a shield. As playtime increases, creeper deaths become more frequent with almost all other mob-deaths diminishing. Mobs that inhabit the nether are more likely to kill players between their first and second hour of playtime- presumably during their first trip to the nether. 1,758 players have been killed by mobs.

On the 9th of June 2025, Bedrock Edition support was introduced to the server. Bedrock players, who can join from a range of devices, are identified by a period at the start of their name. Some Java players have expressed a belief that Bedrock players are less experienced or skilled at the game, and more likely to be killed.

Since late May 2025, a large Portuguese-speaking population has formed- largely comprised of Brazilian players. Early-game mortality is significantly lower among Portuguese-speaking players, potentially as a result of organised recruitment into factions such as [[The Brazilian Pirates]].

== Corn Club Era ==
th3eternal1 joined the server on May 31, 2025. He quickly joined Corn Club, and witnessed the deaths of both Crk0 and Hosef_Jones. On June 2nd, he was leading two newbies to an XP farm to meet with his teammate SShaddows. However, hiseth4582 unexpectedly killed EpicJab2007, forcing th3eternal1 to kill him. The next day, he discovered his teammate Adjestyn had betrayed and stolen many items. Even after the items were returned, Th3 decided to kill him anyways, as he did not want to take risks. This led to the coining of the "corn club curse" as most members that joined the Corn Club died. On June 5th, the curse continued as SShaddows betrayed. He was killed by Anisteria, but this led to the members of the Corn Club migrating to a different base. However, while traveling there, SnowySpy died on the nether roof.

On June 9th, he planned a test for a newbie, R2sen. He placed a bed behind him in the overworld while jumping into the spawn portal, and R2sen followed. After R2sen placed and blew up the bed, he was killed by th3eternal1.

On June 13th, he killed .JUSTDX7826 for planning to become a killer. These kills led many people to suspect that th3eternal1 was a murderer. The next day, he tried to kill MaceAssoc, a killer, with a trapped portal. However, it failed, leading to a standoff with him and Mace at spawn. SquirrelMC was also shooting at him, but due to turtles2071 running out of food, he was accidentally killed. This led to an investigation over who got turtles2071's mace, but nobody found out. Then, monkeballz5546 murdered Pedrosen_ for no reason, causing th3eternal1 to chase him, where he died to kinetic energy. The final spawn death was Doctor_Pancake34. Ridan_Angel was jokingly macing him from a low height, causing them to trade totems. Doctor_Pancake34 then decided to crit out Ridan, where he was then blown up by crystals. th3eternal1 witnessed all these deaths, and vowed to keep peace on the server from now on.
