'''The Extinction''' refers to a conflict between veteran, high-playtime players and the infamous player killer [[1590283112]], or "The Humbler", (as he calls himself.) This conflict has led to the direct deaths of [[TheAcidWitch13]], [[DM1600]], [[8dot5387]], [[aSweatyPotato]], [[deerjammer]], [[ii_futuris]], and [[Pannekoek15NL]], alongside the indirect deaths of [[Cozier_]] and [[Deruzion]], due to the actions taken by 1590283112.

== History ==
1590283112, in his early days in the server, was occasionally attacked or threatened at spawn, as many players knew him as a toxic player from other servers. Players wanted him killed as a preventative measure for what he could do to the server. However, this might have indirectly caused The Extinction to even happen.

At the start of The Extinction, 159 was going back and forth in chat with TheAcidWitch13, and 159 decided to use a bait player to lure Acid. Acid went over to the player, who was then maced for being too annoying, and 159 asked Acid why she did that. While Acid was replying to 159, she got attacked by him, and died in the process, to the shock of the server. Acid was one of the longest-playing players, making 159 a very big threat to other players on the server.

The situation grew worse after DM1600 was killed. DM1600 logged on to try and get immediate revenge on 159 for Acid's death. DM placed a bounty on 159, but soon went AFK in his base, causing him to die, as 159 had a compass to DM's base from Acid's ender chest. DM1600 was also a high-playtime player, making it clear that 159 was very dangerous to the other players on the server.

== Ending ==
159 was baited to a trapped base by [[SanitaryRug]]. At this point, 159 was one of the server's most known player killers. In this trapped base, SanitaryRug hid many traps, with only one trap being slow enough to combat-log. Coincidentally, 159 fell into the single slow trap, allowing him to combat-log, where he was then saved by [[The Beach]]. This made 159 want revenge on Rug, causing 159 to impersonate Rug, saying inappropriate shit in the [[Legendary Hardcore]] discord. However, he was easily found out, and initially permanently muted. This caused 159 to only communicate by sharing player stats in server chat for a week, before the admins upgraded his permanent mute to a permanent ban, given the circumstances around the situation. No players were revived.

On a [[Legendary Hardcore|hardcore server]], a player's [[death]] inevitably impacts those who knew them. This sentiment of mourning (though in some cases celebration) has given rise to graveyards, in-game messages such as [[Reactions to Death|F or RIP]], and death reactions on the Discord server.

== Death Reactions on Discord ==
Some players, due to having more acquaintances, friends, teammates, and generally being friendlier or better-known across the server, tend to receive a higher number of Discord reactions, as they generate stronger feelings in a larger number of people. However, it's worth noting that a higher reaction count does not necessarily mean that player was more beloved by the community, as famous [[Player killing|player killers]] and griefers often receive a considerable number of reactions celebrating their deaths.

Furthermore, in cases where a phrase is written using letter reactions on Discord, there is an inflation in reaction numbers that does not necessarily indicate greater fondness for that person. It is also worth pointing out that the same individual can react with dozens of different emojis, meaning the reaction count does not reflect the absolute number of players who reacted.

It is also worth noting that older players, even those who had a significant impact on the community, may have considerably fewer reactions to their deaths, as the server had a drastically smaller player count at the time of their passing.
